The Sainte-Justine CHU of tomorrow: Bigger and better!
The goal of the CHU Sainte-Justine’s Growing Up Healthy modernization project is to provide patients, families, healthcare practitioners, students, educators and researchers with state-of-the-art facilities adapted to their needs.
Big and small donors alike joined forces in an outpouring of support for this ambitious undertaking, raising a whopping $125 million between 2002 and 2005.
The project is progressing at a steady pace. A great deal has already been completed, including the expansion of the Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau in 2007, the relocation of the Montreal Ronald McDonald House in 2010 and the excavation work at the new building sites, which is currently underway. In the medium term, this will mean:
The construction of a new specialized care unit building
The construction of a research centre
The construction of a multi-level underground parkade
An overall 65% expansion in current hospital facilities.
