We will send you an income tax receipt within two weeks of receiving your donation. Allow more time during busy holiday periods (e.g., Christmas and Easter). If you make a donation before December 31, you will be issued a receipt for that fiscal year. If you make monthly donations via preauthorized cheque or credit card payments, you will receive a single income tax receipt for the total annual amount of your donations by March 1st of the following year.
Are all donations tax-deductible?
The Foundation automatically issues an income tax receipt for donations of $20 and more. You may request a receipt for donations of less than $20.
Can I donate toys or gifts to children who are hospitalized at Sainte-Justine?
We’re always very grateful for caring gestures toward the children. However, because of their fragile state of health, some toys cannot be accepted. All gifts must be approved by the CHU Sainte-Justine. Cash donations are preferable since they allow us to ensure the children receive one of the best levels of healthcare in the world.
Can I give to a person doing door-to-door fundraising for Sainte-Justine or the Foundation?
Under no circumstances does the Foundation authorize this type of fundraising. However, proceeds from the sale of chocolate bars, T-shirts or promotional items bearing the official logo of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation will be sent to the Foundation. The same goes for specially identified coin boxes at many retail check-out counters.
Is the CHU Sainte-Justine Fondation's tax return form is available?
The first step is to complete the online registration form. Once we’ve received your request and approved your choice of activity, a member of our team will contact you to guide you through the rest of the process.
Can the Foundation promote my fundraising activity?
We can include your activity in our activity calendar on our website. You can use the space reserved to indicate the name, date, place and time of your activity, along with a brief description.
What the Foundation can do
- Advise and help you organize your fundraising activity.
- Send a Foundation representative to attend your event. (However, given the busy schedules of our representatives and the high volume of events each year, we cannot guarantee this service).
- Issue tax receipts as required.
- Provide Foundation promotional material (banners, posters, donation boxes, etc.).
- Provide visibility on our online activity calendar.
- Authorize use of the Foundation name and logo (with prior approval of one of our advisors).
- Issue a letter attesting to the Foundation’s involvement in your event.
What the Foundation cannot do
- Advance funds to cover expenses related to your event.
- Provide you with Foundation donor lists.
- Promote your event (except on our online activity calendar).
- Find volunteers for your fundraising activity.
- Apply for permits or licences (e.g., meeting permits) on your behalf. We can, however, support you in this process.
- Provide details on the Foundation’s special contacts (e.g., celebrities or professional athletes).
- Provide auction or draw prizes. Event organizers are responsible for their own canvassing.
Will the Foundation find sponsors for my fundraising activity?
We can help you target sponsors that are a good fit for your event. However, you are in charge of approaching the potential sponsors you selected with the help of a Foundation consultant.
Can you provide funds for my fundraising activity?
Under no circumstances can the Foundation cover fees associated with an activity or provide a cash advance.
Will all those who participate in my activity be able to receive an official tax receipt?
Yes. However, you must provide us with a list of your donors, including the following information: full name, complete address, method of payment and donation amount.
Can I obtain promotional material for my fundraising activity?
Once your activity has been approved, we can provide you with various promotional items such as banners, posters and documentation on the Foundation and the CHU Sainte-Justine.
Can I use the Foundation’s list of donors to attract participants to my event?
Donor lists cannot be disclosed. We have a very strict confidentiality policy which does not allow us to share information about our donors.
Do I have to obtain a permit or insurance for my activity?
For any activity involving gambling (casino, bingo, poker), you must obtain a special permit from the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec. Visit the website at www.racj.gouv.qc.ca to obtain an application form. Once you have completed the form, please send it to us.
If you want to hold your event in a public place, you may need a certificate of insurance. Ask you advisor for further details.
The first step is to complete an application form and submit it to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation benefit activities team. Once your proposal has been approved, a Foundation representative will be in contact with you to let you know you can proceed with the creation of your event or page.
What is the difference between an online fundraising event and a fundraising page?
With an online fundraising event, you can invite your friends to create their own fundraising page linked to your event in order to support you in your goals. This option is not available when you create a fundraising page.
How do I insert a custom banner?
You can replace the default banner found at the top of the page with a personalized visual that captures the spirit of your event. Start by creating a banner using Photoshop, Paint or another program. Please note the banner must measure 1000 x 184 pixels, be in JPG or GIF format and not exceed 100 KB (use your software to compress the file if needed). The CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation logo must appear on the left-hand side of the banner. When you are done, simply upload it to your page and voilà!
>> Download a high-resolution copy (PDF) of the Foundation's logo.
Why doesn't my page show up in the search results or the list of fundraising pages and events?
When you filled out the registration form, you likely checked the box "Je veux que mon nom demeure privé et qu'il n'apparaisse pas dans les résultats de recherché" at the bottom of the page. If so, your page will not appear in any search lists or results. If you wish to make your page public, go to "Modifier mes informations" in My Headquarters and uncheck this box.
Why can't I upload my profile picture?
Your photo cannot be any bigger than 100 KB. You can compress the file size in Photoshop, Paint or another program, if need be. Also, please note the file format must be JPG or GIF, and the image width must not exceed 180 pixels.
How can I add my profile picture to my fundraising page?
Log on to My Headquarters and go to "Modifier mes informations" to upload your picture.
Can I embed a YouTube video in my page?

Can I embed a link in my page?
